Overview
Selectable is built by Frmwrk Software Private Limited. It processes everything on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your screen content, extracted text, translations, or any usage data.
On-device processing
All OCR is performed locally using the Apple Vision framework. Translations use the Apple Translation framework. Text-to-speech uses AVSpeechSynthesizer. None of these features require a network connection or send data externally.
What we do not collect
- Usage analytics or telemetry
- Screenshots, captured regions, or extracted text
- Translated or masked content
- User behavior, keystroke patterns, or interaction data
- Cookies or tracking identifiers
Selectable has zero third-party dependencies. There are no analytics SDKs, no crash reporters, and no network calls during normal use.
System permissions
Selectable requires two macOS permissions to function:
- Screen Recording, to capture the selected region of your screen
- Accessibility, to register global keyboard shortcuts
Both permissions are managed entirely by macOS. No captured data leaves your device.
Email communication
If you contact us, we receive your email address and message content. We use this solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list unless you explicitly opt in.
Purchases
Transactions through the Mac App Store are processed by Apple under its own privacy policies. Transactions through our website are processed by the respective payment provider. Selectable does not receive or store your payment details.
Data retention
We retain email communications only as long as needed to provide support. We do not retain any other user data because we do not collect any.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page. If Selectable ever introduces features that process data outside your device, those changes will be clearly disclosed before release.
